Agree the next step.

We help arrange a callback, site visit or booking, then keep a clear record of the outcome for you.

HOW IT WORKS

An extra pair
of hands.

A small, agreed list. Personal phone calls. A straightforward handover.

  1. 01

    We agree the brief.

  2. 02

    You share the approved quotes.

Provide the recent quotes and customer contacts you authorise us to follow up. We use your business calling account and agreed tools.

  3. 03

We call, listen and follow through.

Up to two contact attempts per quote, with an agreed next step wherever possible. If someone declines or asks us to stop, we stop.

  4. 04

    You see what happened.

Get a clear summary of attempts, conversations and next steps. Confirmed bookings and jobs you've actually won are recorded separately.

AROUND THE TRADES

News for tradies.

Building activity, quoting costs and people. Short Australian industry briefs with a useful next step for your business.

The industry brief

Edition:

Sources checked on 7 November 2026. Source dates and report periods are shown below. The practical takeaways are Quote Tandem's commentary.

THE WORK PIPELINE

More approvals. A different mix of work.

Australian Bureau of Statistics

Australian dwelling approvals rose 5.1% to 17,948 in September 2026, seasonally adjusted. Private-sector house approvals fell 5.3%, while approvals for other private dwellings rose 16.6%.

Our practical takeaway

The type and location of work matter. Check local projects and your own enquiry list before filling the diary. Approvals are a signal to watch, not a promise of jobs.

COSTS & QUOTING

Check the costs behind an older quote.

Australian Bureau of Statistics

The ABS reports that input prices for house construction rose 1.0% in the September quarter of 2026. This is an industry index; it does not mean every material or supplier price rose by that amount.

Our practical takeaway

Before reissuing an older estimate, confirm supplier prices, delivery charges and availability. Put a clear validity date on a new quote and confirm the scope with your customer.

PEOPLE & CAPACITY

Finding qualified help still takes planning.

Jobs and Skills Australia
2026 occupation shortage analysis

Jobs and Skills Australia found that almost half of Technicians and Trades Workers occupations were in shortage in 2026, even as shortages eased overall. Persistent gaps include construction and electrotechnology trades.

Our practical takeaway

Allow time to find qualified help. Confirm your team and subcontractor availability before promising a start date, then give customers a realistic update.

MEET QUOTE TANDEM

When the next job starts

You’ve sent the quote. Then the next job starts, and following up slips down the list.

I started Quote Tandem to help busy service businesses with exactly that. I call customers who’ve already requested a quote, find out where things stand, and report back with the next step.

If you’ve got a few quotes sitting unanswered, let’s talk.

HOW IT WORKS

What happens on a follow-up call?

You choose which quotes to follow up and tell me what I need to know. I call on behalf of your business, listen to what the customer needs, and report back on what they said. If they want to go ahead or have a question for you, you’ll know who to call and why.

You stay in charge of pricing, technical advice and accepting the job.

LET’S TALK

Have a few quotes to chase up?

Book a free 15-minute call with me. Tell me what you quote, how you currently follow up, and where you’d like a hand. I’ll explain how I’d handle those calls on your behalf so you can decide if it suits your business.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before we
pick up the phone.

Will you sound like part of my business?

We agree the introduction and script with you first, explain that we're calling on your behalf, and follow your guidance on tone and next steps.

Do you guarantee more jobs?

No. The service provides agreed follow-up activity and a clear record of outcomes. Customers make their own decisions, and results depend on the quotes, timing and offer.

What do I need to provide?

Recent quotes, approved customer contact details, pricing guidance, available booking times and access to your business calling account. We'll agree contact permissions and handling of customer information before starting.

Can you change prices or answer technical questions?

Only information and options you have approved are discussed. Requests for discounts, changes to scope and technical advice are passed back to you.

Is there a contract or online payment?

We confirm the scope, total fee and payment arrangements in writing before work starts. The trial doesn't automatically renew. Request it on the start page; after agreement, pay using the instructions supplied with your invoice. A secure card link is available only once supplied and activated.

What happens to the information I enter here?

The enquiry builder prepares an email on your device. This website doesn't store your form entries or send them to a server. Your enquiry is sent only when you send it from your email app. We use enquiries to discuss the service. Please don't include customer lists or sensitive quote details in an initial enquiry.

LET'S CLOSE THE LOOP

What happens
after your
quotes go out?

Tell us a little about your business and the quotes you need help with. We'll discuss whether a small trial makes sense.
